Welcome to Frozen For You!

We’re a family-owned business with decades of experience in the food industry. Karen Short founded By Word of Mouth catering in 1993 and it has grown to become one of the best catering companies in the country, being voted the 'Best Caterer in Joburg' for 23 years consecutively, alongside many other prestigious international accolades. It all started with client's pleading for take-home versions of our most popular catered meals, and became Frozen For You, South Africa's favourite premium frozen meal brand.

FROZEN FOOD, REIMAGINED

We proudly opened our first Frozen For You store in Dainfern Square in March 2018, and we now have 15 flagship stores across Gauteng, Pretoria, Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal. A growing part of our business is the exciting new store-in-a-store concept. This is where we partner with other existing retailers to open a Frozen For You in their store. We maintain the same high standards, and manage these spaces exactly as we do in our flagship stores. No shortcuts, or sub-par experiences.

We pride ourselves in being highly-human, and hyper-helpful. No bots or AI-automation, when you call or mail, we will answer!

We offer online ordering and same-day home delivery for added convenience. We do all of our deliveries ourselves to ensure that we have complete control every step along the way, from our kitchen, to your door. Thanks to our extensive catering history, we understand the importance of health and hygiene. We have been delivering food to clients’ homes safely for the last 31 years. You can be assured that our products are never compromised in the delivery process.

We understand the importance of what goes into our food and we would hate to add ‘extra’ ingredients (like dreaded preservatives) to prolong the shelf-life of our meals. This is why we choose to use 'nature’s pause button'. We blast freeze our meals so that all we have to worry about is finding the absolute best, raw, fresh, high-quality ingredients, and cook them as you would at home. It's the marriage of simplicity and quality that make our meals extra special.

Unhealthy fast food. Over-priced restaurant food. Hours in the kitchen. None of these should get you too excited.

That’s where we come in. We do the hard work and prepare wholesome, flavoursome, nutrient-dense meals in small batches. No industrial mega-factory intimidation here, just a passionate team that prepares meals just as you would at home (but, maybe a bit better…).

Over the years we’ve perfected the recipes, and mastered the art of preparation. We make it, blast freeze it, then send it to you. All you have to do is simply read the instructions, select air fry, oven or microwave, and watch your restaurant-quality meal come to life.

What a breath of fresh air it was visiting your Linksfield Neighbourhood store this weekend. Your product line is amazing, your staff friendly and efficient and the store bright and cheerful. There is a "Frozen for You" outlet at the Farrarmere Square in Benoni, and I wandered in there to see what they had in store for us.... so to speak. A nice surprise! Lots of frozen meals at reasonable prices, including a few vegetarian dishes. Given the current C19 fiasco, I wondered if retailers like this would survive the pandemic and remain commercially viable. I hope so, because the servings were very good and beats take-aways hands down. Please do try them out!

I originally bought food from one of their stores but have used their delivery service a couple of time since. All of the food I have had has been fantastic and far better than any of the supermarket meals I have previously had. The food is generous and easily feeds the number of people specified. They also don't bulk up the food with cheap ingredients so the price/ quality point is good. Deliveries are prompt and reliable. I would highly recommend them.
